Well, my mood improved by morning. :) It was a crazy mixed up day, today, though.
First thing in the morning, as soon as I arrived, our Moda fabric rep came in (had an appointment). Moda is doing more and more fabrics that I like (I don't _think_ my taste is changing:) these days. We saw some lovely things and ordered some of the nicest for the store. I always look forward to the new fabrics coming in (some of what we ordered today won't arrive until early October!).
In the midst of looking at pretty swatches, the carpet company rep came in to talk to me. He helped me pick out a color of moulding that would complement the carpet we decided to get (a nice mixed tweed sort of short pile carpet in dark turquoise, brown/beige and green). We talked about how long it will take to lay the carpet (two days) and when (next week!) and what we have to move (vs what they will move as they work).
There is so much that needs moving, I walked down the way and got Tom at AtoZ Movers to come and give us a bid for packing and moving it all -- $780+ for the job.
Jerry had painted about half the sales room walls. He will do the other half tomorrow morning, early (I talked to him between the carpet man and the fabric rep).
I grabbed a quick bite to eat (some very good fresh fruit and a Lean Cuisine lunch of Lemon Chicken) and then my student arrived. She had finished quilting the little piece we were working on during the last class so I taught her how/why to bind today and set her to sewing the binding on by hand. :)
Barbara decided to clean off the shelving from the staff bathroom and found two trash bags full of stuff that we definitely do NOT need (some of it probably more than a decade old). :P Maybe I can find a nice closed cupboard to put back in there to hold things? I have to go to Home Depot to buy light bulbs (long, florescent ones) so I'll look around while I'm there.
By the time Mary finished her class and shopping, it was time for the evening crew to come in (me, Arlene). We had one very time consuming customer and several other walk ins before closing at 8 pm (no classes tonight).
I was grateful to get home tonight, I was tired! Rain, sun, rain all day and the entire area is HUMID and feels like a swamp. :P
I did get to start on a new canvas tonight. I have to say this one is really pretty:
I added a small item first off -- a hummingbird sipping. I had prepared it to use on another canvas but the canvas rejected the bird. :) So, I saved him. Now he has a great home! (this is an image transfer onto clear plastic):
