Today was Luddie Brown's birthday -- happy, happy day, Miss Luddie!!! She and her daughter, Alohna, came in to visit the shop today. We got to see Alohna's beautiful Trip Around the World top (with angel border) and her pieced mystery quilt:
I've seen several of my students' tops in the process of being quilted now -- each one has its own charm. :) We had a lovely visit with the two ladies ... and with several other customers, through the day.
We are starting to get serious about producing block kits for Quilters Quest -- which starts on Nov. 9th. I am about half finished with the quilting of the Quest Free Handout quilt -- a basket sampler, designed by Jinny Beyer. I'm looking forward to the event -- it is so happy to see such a great many enthusiastic quilters! :) We will put more bolts into the sale bins, fill up the fat quarter table, make more kits and panels, and generally spiff the place up for the weekend.
:) We have lots of nice new fabrics -- and I managed to buy some new batteries for my digicam today to share them with you.
Here are a few more bolts of the Charleston III line that we finallly got in:
The second year of Kona Bay's Emperors Collection started this month with a fabulous intro print in three colorways:
WE got two more colorways of the gloriously beautiful hand-dyed panels designed by Debra Lunn:
Monkeys jumping on the bed (giggles!):
We decided to start working again this year on quick gift ideas. First things we have kitted up are pillowcases for kids (two boy's and two girl's designs):
For those mothers (and grandmothers) who want to decorate the nursery in vintage style, here are some old fashioned nursery rhyme characters:
We also have a bright, modern counting book panel (that I forgot to photo) that can be made into a book or a numbers quilt.
Do drop in to visit soon!
OH, PS, I hired a new sales associate today, Sharon Jennings. She will be training over the next two weeks -- say 'Hi!' when you come in and make her feel welcome. (smile)
