This woman, Dorothy Height, was eulogized today by Barack Obama. That seems fitting, somehow -- she fought long and hard for all of her very long life to push society toward a simple kind of fairness for all --irregardless of race, ethnicity or sex. Strikes me as a very good role model ... we should all aspire to be as forward-thinking in our own lives. :)
I'm working hard these days, ever since I got back from my trip, trying to get my store in order. I've been knitting at home, finishing up the cardi for my niece Rae. I'm almost finished with the second sleeve (this was a top-down, knit-in-one-piece cardigan) ... then I have to make the hood and sew in the zipper. ;) Maybe I'll be done by mid-May with it?
Yesterday was my day off (most Wednesdays) and I had thought I'd spend my time working on my son's room (clean, paint, etc) ... but I ended up dozing my way through the day instead. (sigh) I guess I needed the rest. Even Hugh was not too enthusiastic about working yesterday. It was a gray, rainy, chilly day which probably contributed to my desire to stay in my warm bed. :)
