This is not a very elaborate finish ... but I have to take my happiness where I can find it! :) I knit a cabled bracelet last night as I was watching anime on my computer (via Netflix). I have one going in a peach cotton yarn, too. Leftovers from a completely different project I made last winter (when I was learning how to do double knitting:).
My right wrist has been aching lately (I think because of having to use my cane so much when I walk) so I thought it might be good to have something to warm my wrist muscles. :) Really its because I can't stand to just sit - I have to do _something_ with my hands. :)
I did finish my Calypso wool applique mat ... and managed to take a photo to share:
I plopped it down on my office chair to take this photo - the dark red upholstery of my chair brings up the red and orange bits on the mat, eh? :) I hope the friend for whom I made this will like it! The hand dyed wools came from Wooly Lady - luscious to work with! I really enjoyed making this candle mat. :)
I started in sewing on my second block for the Civil War Bride quilt last night - had designed the block and cut the pieces and traced off the overlay already. I am really enjoying this phase of working with wool for applique (onto cotton background fabric, for this quilt)! So soft and easy to work with ... and so pleasant to embroider. :)
