This is the little quilt I made yesterday for one of my employees, Alice M, whose birthday was the first of this month. I think it turned out cute and perky. :) Fortunately, she liked it.
Several years ago, Moda Fabrics made these nifty charm squares packed into small tins with pretty pictures on the front. This was made from one of the Moda tins - something like Pedal Power? I don't know for sure since I gave the tin to Alice. :)
The flowers are raw edge applique and the stems are two colors of rick-rack twined together. Here is a closeup:
I have not done any meander machine quilting for a while - I'd forgotten how much fun it is. :)
Today, after I did a certain amount of necessary computer work, I sewed a set of blocks for our Quilters Quest quilt for this coming fall. I have two staff members and myself working on this quilt - hopefully it will not take too long to complete! :P
I spent three hours this evening typing in the assorted fabric orders we've made over the past two months (should not let this work pile up - now my shoulders hurt) ... now I'm off to indulge in chocolate and then go home. My wool applique is calling me!

THanks, Karen. :) For some perverse reason, I really like ric-rac. (shrug) I particularly enjoy braiding it together (something I learned from my husband's grandmother, for whom our first child is named:) and embroidering on it.
