Last night (Thursday) the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild met at my shop and, along with other goodies, shared their Habitat Challenge quilts. Mine is still in the same state it was a month ago (been working hard in the store to get ready for Quilters Quest:) ... but several other members had nice work to share.
One request of every participant in the challenge was to make a 12" block for a charity quilt. I agreed to assemble and quilt the blocks to donate to an appropriate charity (I think I will make them into two baby quilts).
Above is the block I made (today - always a 'day late and a dollar short' as my Dad used to say:), using the design I'm making for my Bee Blocks and the six prints I got from the Habitat collection designed by Jay McCarroll for Free Spirit.
We have a total of twelve blocks so I think I'll make one 'girl' baby quilt and one 'boy' quilt. Probably they will go to the Southeastern Head Start program that the guild is already supporting.
Other than getting ready for Quest next week, I'm sleeping (way too much) and getting much else accomplished. :P
