At the risk of repeating a cliche, this is the year end and I wish you all a Very Happy NEW Year - full of all for which you would most wish! :) Myself, I am fairly glad to see this year end - there have been highs and lows, as there are in every year ... but I do so enjoy the illusion of new beginnings. :)
Usually I tend to reflect on the past year around my birthday time (late November) ... but this fall was busy, busy and that aspect escaped me (in the excitement of attaining 60 years of life:).
I made some faux pas this year (not unusual) - the worst of which (that I can remember!) is falling behind on my swap obligations with the Crazy Quilting International group. (sigh) I finished stitching tonight on a piece that _should_ have been finished in late September. Well, it is finished now and will be mailed onward to the next participant this week.
Among the things I did _right_ this year was taking up the Medifast diet. As of this past Friday's most recent weigh-in/consultation, I have reduced my bulk by 25.5 pounds! I don't especially feel different (it will take about twice that much gone for me to really feel it, I expect) ... but I do look a bit thinner in the face, I'm told. :) My next personal goal with this diet is to weigh less than my husband ... maybe by March? :)
I intend to go to my shop tomorrow for a ME day. My friend Barbara and I are going to SEW all day. She wants to catch up on sewing the Easy Street piece she's working on ... and I want, at a minimum, to finish quilting my Hollyhocks piece. With any luck, I will sew at least some of my six blocks for the Stripper's Quilt-Along I am teaching this winter, using the Morris' Apprentice jelly roll that I bought (and have misplaced in my office - how can I lose something that large in such a small space? I tell you, I am _seriously_ organizationally challenged!:)
My children are all three well and happy (as far as I know), my poor husband is still sniffling with the nasty cold he came down with on Christmas Eve ... but I am doing well. Love and Joy to all!
