I woke up this morning to a phone call (FaceTime) from my daughter, visiting with my grandson for me...here he is, maybe singing a song? :) Cute, no matter how you look at it.
I managed to go out to do a little bit of Black Friday shopping this afternoon. I only went to one store, my local quilt shop (Springwater Designs) ... and mostly bought fabric (which I am not sharing here as I am using it to make holiday gifts with:) ... but I did pick up a GO die for a petal shape in addition. I have 'orange peel' patterns on my brain right now.
After my tiny bit of shopping, I drove over to Lake Elkhorn's dockside and soaked up some sunshine. I think half the village was out walking around the lake today ... with their dogs and children and bikes and... :) I have taken photos and drawn things from dockside several times...as local spots go, it is one of my favorite places to sit and spectate. Maybe you'll recognize these images if you've been reading long enough:
I did manage to finish one project last night. My friend Barbara gave me a Kumihimo kit to make a necklace and finally got it completely assembled:
I enjoyed making the cord for this and I think I'll do more ... just have to find some nice rat-tail cording (I have some lovely hand dyed stuff _somewhere_ in my mess:).
I got a phone call late this afternoon from my brother ... saying that our younger brother had just been taken to the emergency room. I'm off to Ohio early tomorrow morning to see what's up.
