This is how I felt today. :) Here is Blackie (our barn cat) sleeping in the sunshine. Right after I took this photo, she stood up, yawned, took two steps toward me (into the shade) and laid back down on the (cooler) sidewalk and went back to sleep. Environmental a/c. :)
When I woke up this morning, I had a sore throat so I stayed home today. Don't want to share germs with my poor sick brother Jeff! He is doing somewhat better - they took him off the ventilator yesterday and he is breathing ok on his own now. He ate lunch and is talking (still in a hoarse whisper), but he's getting stronger.
I spent most of today with my feet up, reading on the front porch. Here is my view today:
It was in the mid80's today and quite pleasant. I did manage to do some sewing on my current Splendid Sampler project. I am putting a frame around each block and arranging them in an on-point setting with 3-5-3 blocks:
I am putting sashes onto the last three blocks now. I bought a nice yellow pinstriped print to be the surrounds and will start adding that when I finish framing each block. I am eager to get to the basting and quilting stage with this piece. So much fun! :)
I talked to my daughter and Baby O again yesterday. He's pretty much of an up-and-going person but when he gets tired he snuggles up with Eva on the sofa. Recently she invested in some educational software for the iPad and he seems to enjoy playing with that:
Still has that beautiful red blonde hair. :)
My niece Stephie is back - Kevin and I went to dinner with Steph and her husband Christian this evening at LaRosa (Italian food). Hopefully we can get the van repaired so she will have wheels while she is here!
