IMAGINE PHOTO HERE
For reasons that I do not understand (probably relating to very low signal for my iPhone and low bandwidth for the computer), I cannot get photos from my phone/camera to my computer today. Sigh! If you would like, you can go see this photo on my Instagram feed which shows a new-to-me color of wooly bear caterpillar on my brother's complementary colored shirt sleeve. They are numerous here in the farm yard today and certainly show that Fall is here. :)
Early this morning (way earlier than I personally was happy with:) the packers from our moving company showed up, knocking on the door and eager to get started. Three sturdy young men came in and spent eight hours today, packing up my youngest brother's room and my oldest brother's gun collection. Good thing I didn't want them to do any more. :)
Boxes and dust and tramping up and downstairs. The poor barn cat, Blackie, kept trying to stay away from underfoot while simultaneously wanting to know everything that was happening. Tense day for the poor kitty! :)
It also happened to be the day that Farmer Frank decided to start harvesting his soybean crop. Major dust and dirt clouds blowing up (to harvest soybeans, the combine pulls up the entire plant - well dried- and chops the stems, dried leaves and hulls into chaff while sieving out the mature beans). Between the dust stirred up by movers and the harvesting dust clouds, I ended up with a major headache by supper time. :P Stephanie and Kevin went over to my Aunt Janice's house for what sounded like a great dinner (pot roast, potatoes, chocolate cake, and all the fixin's) but I stayed home laying down to get over the headache.
Oh, I did call my daughter Eva while prone as I had not talked to her for several days. I LOVE FaceTime (similar to Skype) and seeing my kid. Shades of Dick Tracey! :)
Tomorrow the moving truck comes. There will be lots of 'take this, no not that' time to put in .... and then Stephanie and Kevin are lighting out, first to her home in KY then onward to Kansas. I have to stay here to show the house-clearing company around on Saturday and take the keys to Farmer Frank, then I'm outta here, too! Going back to Maryland and my sweet husband after ten months and two weeks. Whew!
Fingers crossed for safe trips by all.
