It does look very like Penrose tiling, doesn't it? However, Penrose type tiling designs don't repeat and they continue endlessly across a planar space.

That quilt was made by a woman named Diana who works for Jinny Beyer. She is an exceptional quilt maker and has been scheduled to film an episode of The Quilt Show in August about the making of that particular quilt.

That penrose tiling quilt is amazing. I love how the tumbling blocks pop in or out depending on how you look at it. Beautiful quilts.
