We got several new books checked in Friday and Saturday that I want to share with you. I took the time to actually look through each one late this morning so I could chat about them for you. :)
This is actually a leaflet/pattern set from those applique ladies - full of whimsical, happy family ideas. :)
I've been a machine quilter since 1992 and it takes some effort to get my attention on the subject - must say I am impressed with this book. :) Usually books on machine quilting focus primarily on free-motion work .... but Ms. Andersen has some really excellent straight-line quilting ideas in this book (in addition to excellent free-motion designs). If you are a machine quilter who would like to stick to walking-foot-quilting, take a close look at this text! Filled with great quilting designs for straight-line lovers.
If you enjoy foundation piecing, you have certainly heard of Carol Doak who has been doing this kind of work professionally since the mid-90s. 50 cute block ideas here run the gamut from flowers to stars (I especially like the crayon block:).
I read Rayna Gillman's blog regularly and was eager to see this book, knowing that it was coming out ... and it is a great as I expected. :) Sewing can be very therapeutic and Ryna has given you here a guideline on getting your therapy with a considerable dose of self-expression. Take a look a this book, especially if you ever have had the desire to just SEW! :)
There are a lot of designs for bags of various sorts out there as well as a number of books. This one has really good construction guidelines AND includes full sized patterns for all the bags. Mostly easily made designs that can be decorated and personalized to your heart's content - worth the price of 'admission' for the pattern value alone. :)
