New Pretties
As some of you already know, I've been away since September 22nd on vacation (the first one I've been able to get my husband to go on for almost 5 years!) -- I took my husband and son to the beach in Atlantic City, NJ. I"ll tell you more about our fun time in another post -- this one is to show you all the goodies that came in to the store while I was gone. (big grins)
We have a host of new fabrics:
These are the new ombres designed by Caryl Byer Fallert -- scrumptious!!
We bought several pieces from Moda's new Chocolat collection, including one double sided prequilted piece:

I thought these monsters were incredibly funny:
We finally got the last of the pirate prints:
Here is a glance at a wonderful black and white New York City toile-style print:
Here's an antebellum ladies toile:

We have one great new gadget in stock -- a pencil sharpener. Lest you think that too mundane an item, let me tell you that this one has two sides, several diameter sizes, and holders for the shavings. Every sewing basket needs one of these! :)
We got OODLES of new books while I was away. I've only been able to thumb through some of them, but here are photos of them all (well, all of them that we still have in stock -- apparently one or maybe two books got snapped up too quickly for me to get to see them:).

This NY Beauty book is written by the Cut-A-Round ruler lady. Arelene is working up a shop sample in this style -- I was really impressed with the ease and dimensionality of the results. The method makes folded fabric points that are sewn between wedges of the arc print background. Pretty cool!
We also picked up a number of new patterns. Some of these are for traditional quilts -- remember (if you are not an antique reproduction quilt maker), designs get to BE traditional by being GOOD designs. (smile) If you like batiks, imagine these 'Civil War' quilts in batiks instead -- just as beautiful!

The photo above shows McKenna Ryan's newest quilt, In Full Bloom. Although the picture shows the entire quilt, the patterns are sold separately for each section. We have also ordered (but not yet received) an Embellishment Package for this quilt (ribbons, beads, etc., to complete the quilt as shown).
I hope you've enjoyed this little photo revue of our newest goodies. Do come see us soon and check the lovelies out for yourself!
