Jill of many skills from Eastern KY via TX and WI; owner of Seminole Sampler quilt shop (now closed).
I am a professional quilter and the former owner of a quilt store near Baltimore, Maryland (www.seminolesampler.com), now closed.
I am also a happily married wife to Skip (who is a PhD astrophysicist), adoring mother to Eva, Alan and Hugh and grandmother to Otto.
I've been a quilt maker since I was a tiny girlie at my (paternal) Grandma's knee. Although I love traditional quilts, my real delight is designing and making 'art' quilts. I have co-authored four quilting books on foundation piecing and occasionally exhibit my work.
My second major hobby is Altered Books. I took up book altering in 2000 and have really enjoyed the quick results and creative challenges of round robins.
I am originally from Appalachia (Berea, KY) and learned the Good Queen's English (Elizabeth I) as my mother tongue. :)
