Today the weather was glorious! The air was warm (mid 70's!) and damp and it was sunny. Heavenly. :) I know it isn't really, reliably, Spring, yet ... but the birds and trees are acting like it might be. :)
I had a doctor's appointment in the early afternoon - with a podiatrist. My first visit (to this one). His office was on the fourth floor and, looking down from the exam room while I was waiting, the pear tree below was bursting into bud. So exciting! :) My poor feet got some much-needed attention and I feel better for it. :)
When I got home, I went straight to my sewing machine (well, no, I ate lunch first and washed a sink full of dirty dishes, as I recall:) ... and finished up the other three elephant blocks. I joined the whole into a two by six block array and looked it over. Hmm ... it honestly looked too big for a 'tiny' baby quilt ... so I chose my four favorite ellies and removed the other two blocks. Then I sewed on the borders and took the top outside for a photo on my front lawn (still sleeping for winter:):
I am very pleased with this little quilt! My backing fabrics should be here soon so I can quilt it up. :) I have enough fabric left over to make another one (have four elephant panel blocks left) - maybe I will make one for the charity quilt projects. :)
Otherwise, it was a quiet day. Skip went grocery shopping with Hugh ... I tidied up a bit in my sewing area and read most of another Nero Wolfe book (Death of a Dude) ... and generally lazed about.
Today is my daughter, Eva's, birthday ... I wish I were with her to celebrate. :) I'll be out to see her in WI soon enough (fingers crossed).
:) Linda
