Do you have a 'position' on dandelions? In my experience, most people hate them. :) Do you know that they are not native to the North American continent? Europeans brought them along when they colonized the New World. Myself, I like them (though I will admit that I don't like to step on them with bare feet:).
I love the fuzz ball seed heads, ready to be blown for wishes ... I love the bright yellow faces looking up to the early spring sky ... I love their name (dandelion - from 'dent de lion' or teeth of the lion in French) ... I love their genetics. Shrug. Guess I'm not much of a true suburbanite, eh?
Today was cloudy and on-and-off drippy with some rain - lots of thunder and lightning in the early evening but not much rain here at my house.
I spent the early part of the day asleep (still, even after all my travels, struggling with waking up at a productive time). In the afternoon, I actually managed to get the tasks on my calendar done (call to arrange for a new thermostat location in our house so we can get better control of our heat/cool temperatures; call to discuss a contract for removing the broken apple tree in our side yard; transcribe most of the receipts I have yet to enter in my computer checkbook register from the trip). Major accomplishment for me! :)
I also unpacked the rest of my trip baggage and ferreted out my sewing tools at long last. I managed to spend about two hours this evening sewing 18 blue/green nine patch blocks (to finish 3" square):
I made 18 nine patches from one and a half 1.5" wide strips of each of my four blue/green fat eighths. I think I have maybe three or four more sets in the bundle - that should make up enough 9 patch blocks to play with, eh? :) I like the colors I'm getting - and _love_ that white-with-gray-crosshatching background print I used. This should be fun.
I am rolling in fabric right now - have GOT to spend some time getting a handle on my house orderliness. Starting tomorrow, right?
:) Linda
