The weather was dreary today - chilly and gray, mid40s temperatures.
I pretty much felt like the weather - dreary - all day. :P I woke up with a scratchy sore throat so I suppose I am going to come down with my husband's wretched cold after all. :P
My productive actions for the days? Well, I gathered up and took out all the recycling so it can be curbed tomorrow morning at first light when my husband leaves for work. This actually entailed carrying out several loads of paper stuff and emptying the bin of bottles and such we keep in the kitchen.
I also refilled the two bird feeders with my son's help. The little creatures have been eating busily all week. I have seen nuthatches and blue jays both come to eat seeds and the suet I put out. If you click on the photos, you can go read about the birds. Squirrels, too, of course. I saw one digging in the pachysandra bed - I hope he wasn't burying seeds there. :)
If you like birds and think about doing patchwork designs of them, do go and check out the patterns designed by Janeen of Quilt Art Designs. Here is a free one (until the end of this month) for an evening grosbeak:
I've been following her blog for ages and enjoying her frequent free patterns (every Friday, I think:).
I did do a little sewing today - I managed to sew my twelve Haphazard blocks into four rows of three. I could not sustain enough interest in sewing to finish joining the rows ... maybe tomorrow. :)
I have an appointment with my remaining private student tomorrow - we're going shopping to search for two backgrounds for the quilt she wants to make. Wish us luck. :P
:) Linda
