Crepe Myrtle (I _think_) seen outside the DMV offices last week. Love the red!
Hibiscus growing in my neighbor's fencerow, seen while I went for my walk
around the area earlier today. I've never seen a purple one before. :)
I am totally unsure what this bush is - it grows outside the front door of
the condo we bought for my brother. Seems like a pretty sturdy bush!
The weather was glorious today - mid 70s, somewhat overcast skies with an occasional breeze. I sat out on my deck for an hour after I ate breakfast, just soaking up the bird songs and summer smells. :) De-stressing.
I am 'benched' for the rest of this week. I got a text message from the MD Department of Health yesterday evening saying that I have been exposed to Covid (from phone proximity tracing) and should quarantine for five days, then test. Sooo, staying home through Saturday. Poor Kimmie will have to deal with the dishwasher arrival and installation without me. :P
Meanwhile, I am having trouble concentrating today. I did manage to go walking (I really want to do this daily but have been distracted lately) ... and to retrieve our mail (we have cluster boxes here in Columbia, the daily snail mail does not come to our house directly; it's about 150 yards from our front door to the box). Got some mindfulness time sitting on the back deck, enjoying the day. Did fill my birdfeeders. :)
I have several house chores that need doing ... and some sewing to pursue ... when I can get my ashes in gear.
Meanwhile, you might enjoy visiting this site and reading about an interesting and unique collaborative embroidery project:
This is the result of The Red Dress project. Fascinating!
